Cleaning Hacks for When Time Isn’t on Your Side

Cleaning Hacks for When Time Isn’t on Your Side

Whether you lead a busy life normally, or your day is simply too hectic for cleaning, there are some hacks you can take advantage of to help get your home clean with minimal time and effort:

Set up some daily cleaning tasks

By having a set of cleaning tasks that you must fulfil every day, you can avoid clutter and grime from building up and taking even more of your time and energy away from you. Examples of daily tasks might be making your bed, putting the laundry on, vacuuming or emptying the dishwasher for example.

Divide the chores

While some people may be busy from the minute they get up, to the minute they lay their head down on the pillow, most of us can find at least a few minutes in our day to complete some smaller cleaning tasks. It can be helpful to divide the tasks that need to be done every day, into sections, to make them more manageable. Even a five minute house cleaning session is better than nothing, and you might blitz the bathroom in the morning before you shower, or vacuum the floors before putting the kids to bed. Find a routine that suits you, and stick to it!

Make sure your cleaning supplies are at hand

Depending on the size of your home, it can be frustrating to be in the upstairs bathroom ready to clean, when your tools and cleaning supplies are downstairs in a cupboard. If you’re not in the mood for cleaning, the simplest inconvenience can be a reason not to do it, so have a couple of cleaning kits dotted around your home and don’t give yourself an excuse to skip it!

Hire a cleaning service

As long as your home gets cleaned, does it really matter who does it? Hiring a cleaning service can take a lot of the pressure away from you, and as long as you can come back to a clean home at the end of each day, it matters not a jot whether it got that way thanks to your efforts, or those of a cleaner.

If you’re really pushed for time, just do one thing a day

If you’re super busy but you know that the kitchen is a mess, just spend 15 minutes blitzing it and tackle other chores another day, when you might have a bit more time. Don’t get stressed about having a spotlessly clean home, all of the time; just do what you can, when you can, and your home should never get too out of control.

Perhaps the best advice is to tidy up as you go along, and try not be so messy in the first place! When you’re cooking dinner, for example, clean up spillages as you go, and load the dishwasher as you finish with each pot or pan.

Keeping a clean home when you’re busy is difficult for everyone, no matter who you are, what you do, and where you live. But, with some simple hacks, or a little bit of professional help, your home can be clean and tidy with minimum hassle.
